Poster on paid site said this:

Just had an OM buddy of mine send me a screen shot from the OM Rivals board. McCready posted that LSU was going after Austin Thomas in some capacity.

I think Austin has a relationship with Frank Wilson. I get the feeling Frank is having a lot of input on this next round of coaching hires.

As I understand it, Austin Thomas is killing it in their NIL Department and LSU wants him in the same capacity

So a poster, on a paid site, posted a message in which he says that “an OM buddy” of his, sent him a screen shot from an OM rivals board, in which Neal McCready says lsu is going after Thomas “in some capacity.”

Again, the poster on the paid site didn’t have this info. Nor did his buddy have the first-hand info. But his buddy forwarded a message board post from some Ole Miss “insider.”

Jesus. shite like this makes Moscona and T-Bob look like Woodward and Bernstein.

I know some programs have established a position that they call "general manager" but its surprising to me that to this point the position hasn't taken off in a more professionally oriented tasking of the job.

I mean the AD and the head coach both have other tasks that demand their attention. You'd think there exists an administrative void between the two. That's something we don't really have in college football, that being an executive position between the power structure (the AD) and the on field coaching.

In my mind, I can see a professional style football franchise GM taking off. Someone whose entire job is to manage matters of football. Player personnel, recruiting boards, scouting, NIL, transfer portal management etc. That may be taking a share off the head coach's plate but I think it would function similar to an NFL franchise.
