looking for rec's/info for a chartered yacht trip in the BVI

I'm researching a trip for late May/early June. We have a family of 5 (3 middle/high school age kids). I am looking for a chartered trip with a captain and possibly a crew as well. The plan would be to island hop each day. I have checked out "MarineMax" charters but looking for ideas, suggestions, rec's, etc... - thanks!

Went last summer but did a bareboat charter through Dream Yacht Charters. Had a 50.1 Beneteau that slept 12. Have never done a charter with a captain so can’t be of help there. Probably my favorite vacation.

Moorings has always been the big one. A 50’ cat would be the most comfortable. Great vacation.
If you wanted to consider a bit cheaper alternative, you could do the abacos. Check out Cruise Abaco.

IG acquaintance used Charter Smarter and said it was great.
Her handle is nicolemsuderland on IG and the first saved story link is about the charter.

Check out the wandering hillbilly on YouTube for all the info you’d ever want on the bvi

This. We used Moorings in 2018 after Irma and they were great.

Used Voyage Charters in the past with great service. They offer captain and chef charters, although we bareboat.

I’m in the early phases of planning a 2025 trip through them.

Like much in life, “it depends”
How many people? What size boat?
Charterers generally want big catamarans. They are more comfortable, bigger beam, more room, easier to sail, etc. to rent say a 45’ cat (sleeps 8-10 likely) you are probably looking at a minimum of $18k a week. Add a captain and mate/cook, that could another $2500-5000. Plus food, bev, Soggy Dollar fee.
A monohull is generally cheaper but just cost of the boat. Other items would stay pretty standard.
Spent a summer living down there and been back a few times, its a special place, if its your thing. Harris place on JVD is a gem.

You’re out of high season in June so prices are much better.

I had a great experience with Mainsail Charters. We had a very nice 40+ foot catamaran with an amazing Captain and Mate/Chef. And a major plus it was reasonably priced.

One thing i have noticed on these is to be very careful about what is included and what is not. Moorings includes food and normal alcohol while some of the smaller outfits say the quoted price includes the boat and the crew only. You then need to budget for food and alcohol to provision the boat for your trip. That's in addition to fuel, any restaurant stops, buoy fees, and tips.
We're waiting til our kids are older for the chartered trip. I would love to find a short 3-4 day one.

When we did Moorings we had to provision our boat. Maybe it’s different with a cook but you’re still paying for it.
A bit of advice. However much water and beer you think you need buy twice as much.
