NYT has started to float the editorials today on how a ceasefire with no reset to original borders is a win for the Ukraine and the world.

I was, and am, in favor of supporting Ukraine’s war effort. Obviously this is not the victory we hoped for, but it is an outcome that will work for us.

Russia learned that this irredentism comes at too high a cost. It will be a long time before they try this again. Had we done what you wanted, and sat this out, Ukraine would be Russia’s and several key neighbors would be so intimidated that they would practically be vassals of Russia.

Hopefully China got the message, but I doubt it. We need to make a deal with Russia soon and arm the ever living hell out of Taiwan. Hopefully we have spent the last couple of years onshoring critical technological and metals manufacturing so we can embargo China.

Why support Ukraine? What about the democratic countries around the world that’s at war? Ukraine is not a democracy. Ukraine is A-hole.

It’s a money making scheme for our politicians tard.

100bil + in debt tons of dead and Russia getting exactly what they want is the outcome that works for US?

Could have been achieved over a year ago. "Our strategy" is just us pulling their strings.

I doubt Ukraine has much say in the matter. We bought them.

Truly frick yourself. If you want to support a foreign country in a regional fight then write a check to them and go to the front lines yourself. Don't cheer from the fricking couch and demand that other people's money be spent in an effort that was always going to fail.
