I can't think of any coach that has said "I want to be a coordinator for my whole life" and leave it at that.

There aren’t many, but some guys are more than happy to just be a coordinator and not have the heat that a head coach takes. Bud Foster and Phil Parker are two good examples. I

There are some. They are solid at their jobs, have great job security, get paid well, and don't want the heat that comes with being a HC.
Honestly, as I type it out, I think I'd prefer it too
Bud Foster is one that comes to mind. He turned down head coaching jobs seemingly every year.
