One surprising development this season: Jordan Howden

Has been playing pretty well as the starting safety, grading out pretty well from everyone’s favorite, PFF. Not too bad for a 5th round pick.
But it seems like there’s been a recent trend in safeties hitting in Rounds 3-7. A lot of the starting safeties in the league, like the Bills, Cobows and others, have pretty good sets of safeties, all taken in the later rounds. Chances we found a diamond in the rough with Howden?

DA knows defense he should stick to that

DA knows DBs, I’ll give him that, but his FA and draft moves on the DL look pretty bad except for Bresee, and his moves at LB are still TBD.

One positive thing about the Saints is they have drafted some really good DB’s and gotten really good value.

I think overall the Saints scouting department under Ireland has done really well in identifying talent. Loomis has done a piss poor job in identifying which players to extend and which ones to let walk. Case in point letting Trey Hendrickson, Marcus Williams, CGJ type players go and wasted millions in failed free agency signings trying to replace them.

You’re an idiot - Davenport was a beast according to pff

I think DA is a tad overrated as a D coordinator, I’d put him at above average. But going back to his days as a secondary coach, D coordinator, and even head coach, there’s no doubting the son of a bitch can coach up a secondary

When he played, injury prone is putting it lightly.

I’m kidding. He was a massive bust.

He’s been a solid pick but we passed on Puka that round who just tore us a new a-hole Thursday night. That’s a grand slam pick in the 5th.
I liked chase Brown that draft and he also went that round and has outperformed Miller to this point.

Fixed. DA chokes like no other as a DC. Most overrated DC ever.
