Yep, but it happens to every team.

Overall, we've drafted fine the last few years.

Late lottery is basically a crapshoot.

knowing it could have been Maxey, Anthony, or Bane makes it even worse...

Because they scouted Kira, Herb caught their eye and gave them a really close look at him for multiple seasons.

They don’t have another game until next Friday so probably why.

People act like this was the worst pick ever and set us back. It was the 13th pick, it was a crapshoot. This and #4 for #8 and #17. We really don't have a lot to complain about when it comes to the draft. As a whole, the Pels have done really well at drafting.

Imagine being a Kings fan. Just look at their last 9 top 10 picks alone...

2011 - #7 - Bismack Biyambo. Around 10 draft picks after him were hits.
2012 - #5 - Thomas Robinson. Worst pick in the entire draft and one spot before Dame and 2 before Harrison Barnes.
2013 - #7 - Ben McLemore. Probably the worst pick outside of Anthony Bennet in a bad draft class.
2014 - #8 - Nik Stauskas. Starting to see a bust trend here.
2015 - #6 - Willie Cauley-Setein. Brick.
2016 - #8 - Marquese Chriss. Air ball.
2017 - #5 - De'Aaron Fox. Big hit obviously.
2017 - #10 - Zach Collins. Monk taken one spot after and Donovan Mitchell three spots later. Plus Bam, OG, Jarret Allen, and John Collins at the position they drafted.
2018 - #2 - Marvin Bagley III. Doesn't get much worse. Taken a spot before Luka, JJJ, and Trae.
2021 -#9 - Davion Mitchell. Looks to be getting worse and they will already be looking to unload.

the two aren't mutually exclusive... they could have scouted Kira, noticed Herb, and NOT drafted Kira, and still grabbed Herb...

acting like Herb is some sort of redemption for drafting Kira is ludicrous...

But they may have missed Herb if they didnt scout Kira. Herb was on nobody's radar for a reason and Kira had all the hype and was the reason you're even looking at bama in the first place.

Just pretend we picked Herb with pick 13 in 2020 and picked Kira in the 2nd round in 2021

yes, i agree with all that... but just because they scouted him doesn't mean they had to draft him! we don't draft every single player we scout...

Exactly. There's lots of stuff that you can legitimately complain about with the organization, but the drafting and scouting is not one of them.

- Trey, Naji, Jose, Hawkins, and Herb are all picks/acquisitions that produced above expected value.

- Dyson, NAW, Didi, and Liddell were expected value.

- Kira and Jaxson were below expected value.

It doesn't make sense to single out Kira and attack the front office for drafting him.

Can you imagine if they had just drafted perfectly every single year?

But they didn’t, so we should condemn them.

The Kings did not draft Chriss or Zach Collins, but your point still holds true.
They technically drafted them, and traded them on draft night.

He can stay down there. We don’t fricking need or use him anyway. Hes a waste of a roster spot.
