I honestly can not believe the responses in this thread. I see absolutely nothing wrong with the message from the CEO. My wife and I both work at a ton when we are at home and/or watching our kids activities. If needed, we are both pretty much accessible at any hour of the day. I would expect any honorable employee to do the same. These responses are shocking.

Of course, I also see a ton of threads on the OT about people bitching about inflation, cost of living and asking how people "make it" in todays environment. Guess those things go hand in hand.

Why would you expect that? Are you stupid or something?

did you pledge your sword to your employer or what?

Eta- I say this as someone who is basically married to any project I am on. You can’t expect this from cubicle workers with 2-3 weeks of pto making 70k.

Wait, where is the *sarcasm*?

What an awful existence. Your company doesn't value you and you can be walked out the door at any second, however many all-nighters you pulled. If you are serious, and I hope you are not, you are sacrificing life for a company who doesn't even know your name.

Honor? In corporate America?

What year is it? There is no honor in corporate America. They don't give a shite about you, they just need you to think they do so you won't sue them.

So both you and your wife place your job above your kids mental and emotional well-being. You better believe they know this.

Any honorable company would would never expect that. Problem is, there is no such thing as an honorable company because people like you are willing to slave yourself out to earn an extra buck at the expense of your kids.

As will your response be when your kids are:
a. Doing drugs
b. Having sex
c. Defying you
d. Having anxiety issues
e. Having depression issues
f. Having eating disorders
g. Doing whatever they have to to get an ounce of genuine attention from their parents.
