I can’t seem to get the link to the Advocate article from their app. But she says she has talked to Tate about playing them in TS next year and having proceeds from the game go to Southern to help them establish an NIL program for their players.

I mean it sounds like a cool one-off idea, but I don’t see how it happens logistically. We thought the floor was slippery at the tournament earlier this year? I can’t imagine the court being playable outside in Louisiana unless they used some sort of non-wood surface which I’m sure would go against NCAA standards. Plus there is the weather factor, and the logistics of this happening during football season (unless they scheduled it during SEC play somehow).

Just thought it was would be way to difficult to pull off.

Or. They can play it in the middle of the day in October. Don't overthink it. If the queen wants it, i'm sure she'd be able to get it baw!

Bad Idea , only because the injury factor

You know we might have a couple Slip-Downs and Collect

Would LSU be liable if they are sponsoring it ?

If we hold any kind of fundraiser to create a slush-fund for NIL payments, I want it to be for LSU athletes, no-one else

If you're going to play someone outside in Tiger Stadium, please not Southern.
What's the point of beating Southern 120-19 with
102,000 in the stands.
There has to be a team, somewhere between Southern good...and UCONN good...let's pick something in the middle

Why don't they do it in Mumford? I'm sure people would drive across town to see it.

This is perfect. With the transfer portal it would be like a feeder to LSU.

They could play it on the same court where midnight basketball is played.

I didn’t realize it was legal to sell tickets to your games and use the money for NIL.

Why aren’t they already doing that?

It'd have to be post-football season (laying down floor would kill the grass).

Then you're looking at cold weather.

But I love that they're at least thinking about and trying to work through the logistics.

I have no problem with any of our coaches in any sport thinking out of the box. It only adds exposure to the school, athletic program, and state of Louisiana.
