Other than the playoff related bowls, bowl games are now meaningless other than the money they generate and the extra two weeks of practice they provide for returning players. There you have it.

The playoff has made other bowls seem less meaningful. I’m at a point where I really don’t blame high draft pick guys for not playing in them. My fear is that eventually these guys skipping playoff games will become a real thing and that will really suck. If that starts to happen, hopefully they can tie incentives to play into NIL contracts or something.
