Got a root canal this summer. Extreme pain went away immediately and it’s the best money I’ve ever spent. The only thing that sucked about it was having to keep my mouth open wide for 30 mins or so for the procedure. No pain otherwise

You don't have to put out for Zirconia

You can ask for dental blocks to help with that

tell your dentist to give you a referral to a specialist to pull the tooth and place an implant. Endo is fine for a short term (5-10 years) but an implant will be the eventual solution

Brother, I feel your pain. Had a cracked tooth pulled yesterday, immediate relief from the pain you’re experiencing. Two months prior, I had a root canal on the other side of my mouth because of a dead nerve under a crown. Root canal went fine, but developed TMJ afterwards.
It’s been an awesome last three months

I wouldn't listen to this advice. It's always best to save the tooth if you can. A root canal is a way less invasive procedure, a much shorter process, and way less expensive.

At least with surgeries, I've always been knocked out. I'm not really keen on just numbing the area and then hearing the drilling sound.
Dentist have come a long way for a few decades ago.
If you dentist is good you will not feel much pain. If you do feel more than an very slight pain when they are numbing your mouth then your dentist sucks.
The worst part SHOULD be your discomfort with the sound.

A steroid and antibiotic will work on a cracked tooth better than pain meds. Go to an endodontist, not a regular dentist.

Which tooth, and what was the procedure? I've always been curious how they do that without punching through your cheek or destroying the surrounding teeth.

Is it cracked below the gum line?
If not find a dentist who will remove the portion above and recreate the tooth using composite material.
It'll be WAY cheaper and last forever. You need to insist on it or they'll upsell you and drain your wallet.

I never said I had a root canal

Last molar (not wisdom) on bottom left. They basically shoot you up with Novocain and work the tooth out side… hurt pretty good, it was obviously infected. It ended up breaking and had to pull out two separate pieces I believe
