I truly cannot wrap my head around why the government/courts think they have any business whatsoever in the governance of amateur student athletics.

Will this affect the playoff? Basketball players that were sitting out are now eligible pending the result of the trial which starts at the end of this month.

They tend to intervene in things they generally have no business in when the people meant to govern are grossly incompetent.

Abusive / Neglectful parents? Government eventually has no choice but to intervene.

Run your workplace like a slave owner? Eventually the government has to intervene.

Royally mismanage governing a sport for your entire existence and eventually when enough people complain enough the government is going to intervene.
