I realize that a lot of folks get ticked off a players skipping these bowl, but it is a sign that you are developing players. Just the publicity around who is going to play sends the message to recruits that we can get you prepared for the NFL.

I wish he could wear a red non contact jersey and play.

Whatever he does I'm ok with it. He's earned it.

If he doesn't play it will give the new QB experience and give everyone a better sense of how next year will be.

Like to see K D and M N break the record then sit down, enjoy the rest of the game with their Buddies/Players

I'd love to see him play 1st Qtr throw a TD & run one in... Then let the Nuss go from there.

So you felt bad that a true freshman on a team without half it's roster didn't burn an entire year of eligibility he now needs for one meaningless bowl game in a meaningless season? And that's worse than you'd feel in a season with a chance for 10 wins on the line? Sounds more like you're a hypocrite and just take any opportunity to throw shite at Nuss.

don't see him skipping the bowl game. Just like Burrow wouldn't miss it. They are cut fron the same cloth.
Joe had a situation completely different. He was playing for a national championship and I find it hard to believe Joe would’ve played in a bowl game between 2 teams with nothing to gain.

He should patrol the sidelines, signing autographs and taking pictures for those who make the trip out there.

I’d rather him sit out. Gunna need him healthy when he puts on that black and gold.

The more I thought about it, JD has nothing left to prove, time for him to pass the torch. The risk and reward fact9r is all you need to look at.

Malik is playing to break record, maybe JD5 wants to be QB to throw those passing yards to his main WR, they did make quite the tandem for the last 2 seasons. On the other hand if I’m his agent or parents I would be kinda reserved for JD5 to have a freak voodoo injury occur on 1 stupid play that could cost him Generational Money. Besides he’s done his due diligence to the LSU football team, program, and brand.

Selfishly want him to play, but understand if he doesn't.

I would like to see him be the one that Nabers breaks the record with.

Every bowl game not included in the playoff is of no value for any senior who has already proven his value.

Kinda hate to see it.

I’d rather a controlled situation where he dresses out and plays the first series with him handing off or quick passes and then comes out with roaring applause from fans.

Let’s not kid ourselves, it was a mutually beneficial relationship. LSU will have helped made him millions and vice versa. On a team with a defense that would have been lucky to finish 6-6 without having Superman at QB, he kept LSU relevant this year, and added value to the LSU brand with a Heisman that they will be able to leverage and trade on for years. I said before, even though it’s an individual award, I think the 2nd best thing for a football program relative to future success is having the Heisman Trophy winner. Only behind actually winning the NC. Like Jayden winning the Heisman this year is exponentially more valuable to the LSU brand than TCU losing in the NCG to Georgia last year. Even if it was a closer game.

And there are plenty of ways he can continue to show his loyalty and appreciation for what LSU did for him beyond simply winning the Outback Bowl. And one of those things is being another 1st round draft pick QB our coaches can point to. Preferably top 5-10. That’s more valuable to Kelly than Jayden helping win the bowl. (Make no mistake, we NEED to win this bowl, but if we can’t do it with Nuss and what appears to be not a whole lot of transfers or opt-outs at this time, then we probably need to know that now and make whatever adjustments we need to).

If Jayden wants to play, I’d love to watch him. If he doesn’t, I’m cool with that too. There are risks to both him and LSU if he were to get hurt.

Gave his all. If we had 1/2 a D, we're playing in the natty. Don't risk injury. Prep and be a top 10 pick.
