But that’s not how SLC Little League works! LOOK up the boundaries before you assume it’s like Eastbank. The players have to live inside of the South Lake Charles boundaries or they can’t play. Mid City Little League is north Lake Charles……if they played for SLC LL they are within those boundaries which also happens to be mostly be Barbe school district!

I know the rules. 4 parishes on East Bank. Maybe more. Louque was from Lutcher, pitching for East Bank. It was a super All Star team. JPRD has been breaking the rules forever. The get kicked out of every league they join. My statement is just bc they played LL together doesn’t mean crap. Teams get kicked out of LL all the time for the same reason - super teams from all over.
no dumbass you dont. you know how eastbank is and think that is how it is all over.....its not. Each district is different. South lake charles, is just that south lake charles as sulphur, moss bluff, westlake and grandlake all surround the area and have leagues and then mid city has a league that takes up a big chunk of lake charles.
so no, its not a super team and no you cant create one. you have to turn in copy of DL, rental agreement or a deed to the house and must have an electric bill and all must be dated before February.
i been coaching little league a long arse time, you have no clue wtf you are talking about and assume because East bank essentially changed the rules and took advantage of a loophole that everyone is like that.
now in 2 years when Little League goes away from the residential requirements...thats different. but until then and especially back in 2018 when these seniors where 12...yea the rules were strict AF

Gavin Guidry moved to LC when he was 11. Brody Drost transferred legally and sat out his freshman year to be eligible. Both moved because they wanted to play at Barbe and were not interested in being a part of the politics is SHS.
Also to be fair, both were actually recruited but not by Barbe! They were both called by another high school coach multiple times over multiple weeks to transfer to their school because things were tough at Barbe.
thank you. Sulphur is full of politics and why they ended up with the football and baseball coaches they did. nobody wants to deal with that bullshite
yet sulphur is always accusing barbe of recruiting if kids want to are moving. and again, like you said, its perfectly within the rules to get an out of zone, go to a school out of district and only play freshman and JV ball your freshman year. 95% of private school kids have to do that now that all feeder schools went away.

I don't understand why it's a big deal if a kid goes to high school out of district. Orleans Parish high schools (let's just use Brother Martin and Jesuit) get kids from all over - Eastbank JP, Westbank JP, St Charles, St Tammany, etc. It doesn't mean that they were "recruited". If by recruiting, you mean reaching out to kids at camps, showcases, tourneys/leagues, etc then of course. And, if you're not at least toeing the line in "recruiting" then you're losing - and that goes for the schools in general, not just sports. I can say with absolute certainty that most, if not all, cross the line in "recruiting" nowadays at times. I don't know why Barbe would be any different. Not a big deal to me.
its not a big deal but many of these dumbasses like to think because a kid lives in a certain area...they own the talent and he must go to the local school.
doesnt matter if the local school is terrible, terrible at developing talent, terrible coaching, terrible facilities, terrible academics, unsafe envirnoment, terrible politics, etc etc etc.....they fricking own the kid because you know....he lives there damn it!!
its a dumb socialistic mentality. these same people are very much against school choice because how dare schools compete for students and get better. How fricking dare they!!!
yet these same people will get on the Poli board and claim to be conservatives. Its a tradition in LA, have an Iq under 100, claim to be conservative but when it comes time to critically think about and apply conservative principles across the board, they are incapable.

It really is sad that Sulphur can't get out of it's own way in regards to politics. They should be a juggernaut in both football and baseball but soft arse parents ruin it time and time again.

i know of atleast 2 top coaches from smaller schools that did not officially apply for the baseball position that when interviewing with the principle and head of the booster club(big wtf imo) asked if they were to start a more talented freshman over a senior who was a big boosters son....would they support them....both said could have heard a pin drop for 10-15 seconds. both immediately pulled out. Both would have had the job hands down and are considered top level coaches.

Now, they can ignorantly lay in the bed that they have made. How pathetic.

No sense arguing with a fool, onlookers might not know the difference.

you sure im the fool?
SLC now encompasses all the way to jennings but that is a new development
before 2021 it was south to deatonville on the east side of the parish, to the corner of hwy 397 & ward line road on the west side
ran up east mcneese then to 210 across all the way to the lake. anythign north of 210 was out.
in 2021 it moved up ryan st to i-10
then last year they claimed all the un affiliated areas all the way to mermentau in response to East bank and not "greater lafayette" and AP leagues
again, you are wrong and do not know what you are talking about.
you can look here and prove my point

you can find the tournament verification form here

its ok to admit you were wrong...would you like some more history on the league?

Don’t be naive. East Bank had kids for 3/4 parishes in Little League World Series winner. Orleans, Jefferson, St. Charles and St. Tammy. My cousin’s boy played on that team. Those kids could be for all over.

The map only shows mainly Jefferson and a small part of Orleans, but it was all on the up and up. Wink, wink.

I don’t care if you recruit them, just play people who do the same thing. You want to play IMG in football, who nationally recruits vs your school locally? Big difference. Stacked deck. You would have gotten shot in card game in Old West.

again recruiting who? point them out. and they are playing img this year and were scheduled in 2020 also.

I said football, where you get physically beat to a pulp. Not so much in baseball. I have no problem with recruiting or people choosing a school for their kids best interest, just play people who do the same thing. You know like “Select”.
Posted on 12/13/23 at 11:08 am to LouisianimaI
they play all the top schools in the select and public every year in baseball and they are not select as they dont meet any of the requirements. they have very very few that are out of district. maybe 2 a year at max. most of those move into district or are from an underperforming school
again look at the picture i posted...all of those kids live in barbe's district and are the main core of this team
so again you were saying what about them being select?
dude its ok to not know things and admit you are wrong. if the BR guys started talking about Catholic baseball or WM baseball, i sure as hell wouldnt know a ton about where certain kids live. stop just digging the hole deeper trying to act like you know everything.
