That's the thing. I mentioned this to her, "sure there's some sentimental here, right?" and she said nope. Dad has a Gibson Les Paul that I remember since was a child. He laterally lulled me to sleep with and I grew up watching him play gigs with it. That's gonna be my sentimental guitar. I would never part with it."

That's an S2, not an SE. S2 is Made in America with import parts. It's the middle ground between the SE and core.
SE's are great guitars. A lot of SE models are on sale right now. With the current sales, I'd offer $500 if it's mint, or buy new.
