Good find. As for Mayberry RFD mentioned above, I stopped watching in those later years. The writing was starting to get too formulaic.
Same thing happened with the last sitcom I ever watched, Greenacres. In the final year of the show the writing took a huge plunge and when the little kid showed up I signed off and I've never seen a network sitcom since that day.
It's like my buddy Rick Hawkins said when he left Centenary for Hollywood: 'Everyone in Hollywood can act. Nobody in Hollywood can write.'
He was successful as a writer for Vikki Lawrence and some other shows but I never watched his stuff. I liked the guy as a friend but I didn't find his writing that funny.
