Clark likely to break Pistol Pete’s scoring record

Of course she has 4 years, 3 point line and many more games to do it. Hope this brings even more respect to Pete as WBB is now at a zenith with fans. And Clark is a blast to watch- have to think Pete would respect her game. But again his record will never be broken in the mens’ game even in 4 years. And we waxed Iowa last year in NC…
Clark became the 15th Division I women’s player to join the 3K club, sitting at 3,013 points after scoring 35 in the 67-58 win. She is 514 points from tying the Div. I women’s scoring record of 3,527 points set by Kelsey Plum, a two-time WNBA champion with the Las Vegas Aces. And she trails LSU legend Pete Maravich’s all-time record of 3,667 points by 654.
The reigning Naismith Award winner is averaging 29.6 points per game during Iowa’s 9-1 start. At that pace, it will take her 17 games to reach the first milestone, which would be Feb. 22 at Indiana. The Hawkeyes have three more regular-season games after that, as well as the Big Ten tournament and NCAA tournament. If Clark followed her career pace of 27.2 ppg, it would take her almost 19 games and could happen Feb. 28 on the road against Minnesota.

Unless she becomes a man, I'm not worried about it.

I envy anyone who had the honor to watch the GOAT, but I’ve watched probably every video out there multiple times since YT has been around, and even I know that no one will ever touch Pete Maravich. He was that special. Here’s why Clark especially won’t.

That is probably the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Would be like saying "x" basketball player scored more points that joe burrow.
It is an entirely different sport.

You realize it came within an eyelash of being broken last year right?

Women can’t break men’s records

Good to see that you agree with that being "the dumbest thing I've ever heard." The only thing dumber than the comparison will be the media's coronation of Clark as the greatest college basketball player of all time. Seems ridiculous, but we all know it's going to happen.

I agree that she is fun to watch. One of the few in women's college basketball I actually enjoy watching.

You realize that was the one and only shot? The “Covid year” players are all but gone. It would have been highly controversial anyway considering he had nearly double the games and the benefit of the three point line.

frick whoever is trying to make this a thing.

Similar to comparing a college football player’s stats to an NFL player’s stats. 2 entirely different levels of skill involved.
