Playoff Thoughts (long)

Sorry, but I need to get all of this off my chest & this is my message board!
I have listened to & read a lot of stuff about the playoff selections. I agree with some stuff I’ve heard & disagree with other stuff. I have gone back and forth with what I truly think about how it shook out. The CFB fan in me wants to see the best football games possible & the SEC fan in me wants the SEC to dominate it & the LSU fan in me doesn’t want Alabama or Georgia to win any more championships ever because screw those guys.
If you want the best games & have the champion truly be the best team for the season, GA & AL need to be in it. If one of them win it, they were supposed to & if someone beats them on the field, they would have earned it. To me, in that scenario, it should have been Michigan, Texas, AL & GA. Washington & FL St are out & I truly think they’d get smoked by any of other four. These four also would have satisfied the desire to see the SEC dominate, since AL & GA would likely win their semis & play each other again for the title. The committee had an out for FL St due to Travis’ injury, but didn't have a strong argument for WA being left out other than just conference/schedule strength. So this wasn’t ever going to happen anyway.
The LSU fan in me really didn’t want AL or GA in at all & we almost had that if they just put FL St. in based on being an undefeated conference champ. The SEC fan in us all would have probably felt slighted by that due to history & relative power ratings & point spreads & all of that. But I could have lived with it, even if I would have argued forever with fans of non-SEC teams that an SEC team would have won it regardless of which one it was!
You really could have picked any combination of the 6 teams & made an argument why they were the best 4. So some part of the CFB public would have had something to complain about, no matter how this shook out. The committee was truly in a no-win situation & probably just picked the one that was most defendable in their eyes. The one team whose fan base I feel bad for is FL St. But really, they know & everyone else KNOWS they would’ve gotten smoked by any of the other 5 teams without Travis.
By the way, why, in all of the articles & discussion I ran across, is no one is talking about the fact that these conferences are NOT all equal? They want to throw out the outrage of an undefeated conference champion getting left out. Or the outrage of AL getting in with a loss & it has to be “bias”. But really, the PAC? & the ACC were crap this year. I also think the Big10 was only marginally better as a whole with tons of really bad teams in there. Heck, Kentucky beat Louisville who played for the ACC title. KENTUCKY! LOL! Don’t come at me with the inter-conference records. Almost every victory of a non-SEC team winning, was between teams that were in different places in their relative place in the conference. LSU is arguably the 5th best team in the SEC, so of course the 1st ranked team in the ACC should have beaten them. Look at most of the other games & it is a similar scenario. The SEC has the best coaches, the most talent (by recruiting rankings & draft picks), & the most top-quality programs in the country every year & has for a while.
So despite my hatred of AL & GA (& 99.9% of their fans), to have the best playoff games & the champion truly being the best team this year, they should have both been in. I am glad they both didn’t get in & my heart didn’t want AL in either. But the CFB fan in me knows they deserve to be in as the SEC champ & as much as it pains me to say as an LSU fan, they are probably going to win the freaking thing again. Makes me sick, but I understand it & I am really glad it will be 12 teams going forward. Even knowing AL & GA are gonna be in that thing EVERY year & hard to beat for a long time still.
Sorry for the length but I got it out & thank you!

My takeaway - and I read it all - is that your take is equally subjective.

Clearly, you deserve happiness.

If we should be upset at a team being left out, it's Georgia.

Terrible take.
FYI: don’t bother reading, just down vote this loser.
(Edit: why? Washington has nation’s longest winning streak, including win over Texas and their alcoholic coach who identifies as a lesbian)
