War Story: I am a Captain stationed at Ft Polk, just back from Viet Nam. Took my pretty young wife to the game, our fifth of the year. My Dad & brother would have killed to get her ticket...but she was pretty. Any way, after Casanova ran back his second punt & the stadium was going crazy, she turns to me & says "LSU is wearing the white shirts, right?" Fifty-three years later & she has never gone to a game since!

My first game in Tiger stadium the Tigers won either 70 or 77 to 0 I think it was against Ohio Bobcats. Sometime back in the 70’s. I was so young I thought we were playing Ohio St. and said to my dad LSU must be the best team in the country LOL

I just watched that replay you provided. I wish we could get that special teams coach. Two punt returns for TDs!! Wow!

Big win for the Tigers. My dad was #93 and played defensive end.

I was there! Archie Manning was a warrior and I almost felt sorry for him. Three part returns for touchdowns it's something we will probably never see again.

LSU doesn’t need that coach. It needs Casanova. He would be the best player on the team today if he were playing. Downvote away but none of the current players had his ability to impact the game the way he did. The only close comparison would be Tyrann Mathieu but he wouldn’t get you 100+ as a running back. He also would not tackle as many RBs in the box.
Casanova might also be remembered for dropping an int in the endzone that cost us the ND game in 70. That 1970 defense was awesome. Jones hit a receiver in the hands, can’t remember who, for a bomb that would have been a TD and he dropped it.

I was there also (sophomore) ; we beat the hell out of Archie Manning and coach Johnny Vaught ! This sent us to the Orange bowl(also there) to play Nebraska. In my opinion this was the high point of Cholly Macs' coaching career at LSU.
