There is a little plastic spacer between the pedal and a switch that has likely broken. Kia?

It is a Honda but there is something plastic on the floor under the brake pedal. I thought it was trash but I suppose it could be a broken part.

It is.

The plastic gets brittle and cracks over time.

That's it. Official name should be a brake pedal stop pad or brake grommet. Easy change and should be able to get part at local auto store.

That's the sensor. It goes under the brake pedal. Easy fix. Happened to mine as well.
