Did you drive through water recently?
No on the water. Thanks for helping but it looks like the OT has already diagnosed the problem.

It is a Honda but there is something plastic on the floor under the brake pedal. I thought it was trash but I suppose it could be a broken part.
That's the sensor. It goes under the brake pedal. Easy fix. Happened to mine as well.

I had a very odd brake malfunction in my 66 Mustang. Brakes would not work (at all) in reverse. The brakes worked ok going forward. I had a nice surprise backing down the hilly driveway LOL.
I don't do brake work so I'm interested to see what the issue is.

Before installing the new grommet, be sure to coat it in wheel wash, so it will seat properly.

Thank you. That video makes it look pretty simple.

Brake Pedal Stop Pad Autozone
Follow the brake pedal. There will be a small hole at the end of an arm.

Buy one and throw I'm glove box.
I usually have in glove box a bunch of fuses and relays.
I'll spend $50-$60 on shite like this. May never need it but I gotnstuck on the road in toledo bend at night due to a relay.
Never again.
I open the fuse box and write shite down and order replacements when I get a new vehicle.

Drum brakes?

Yup.. had this happen to an old Nissan truck 15 or so years ago. Part was only a couple bucks and was fairly easy to change… wasn’t kinda awkward and tight space
I also had this happen to a Nissan hardbody. I used superglue and a nickel to cover the hole.

Drum brakes?
I believe so. It is my least favorite car but other family members like it so it stays around (and parts are easy to get). So, I don't pay a lot of attention to it.

One time my brake lights would stay on until I pressed the brakes and then would go off. Almost got rear ended 3 times in bumper to bumper traffic one day. The only way I found out was a guy pulling up beside me and yelling at me.

This guy is correct. You need to replace your bake stop pad on your brakes. Takes 2 min to do

When this happened to me in college, I just taped a penny over the hole. Simple fix.
