don't be ignorant. aaron brooks is one of the most talented players we've ever had play the qb position..
he is definitely not the worst saints player ever, dumbest? maybe.

You could have fooled me with the 5 or 6 or more dropped balls WITH NO ONE AROUND HIM when attempting to pass.

Aaron Brooks once threw a pass backwards for about 20 yards. One of the stupidest plays ever.

He also once threw a screen pass to Ricky Williams, but it hit him the head...R.W. didn't know where the hell the ball was for a few seconds!
Good ol' Smiley...

Wow, there are so many worthy candidates. I guess I'll go with Aaron Brooks.

Jonathan Sullivan most recently. He sucked at a high price. Why are people saying Aaron Brooks?

does anyone realize how bad the Saints offense was in 1998?
We played 4 different QBs, including Kerry Collins at the height of his drunken stupor.
Our leading rusher was Lamar Smith, averaging 3.3 YPC.
My vote goes to Collins, that was a decade ago whenever he was royally screwing things up for us.
49.2 completion %, 1202 yds, 4 tds, 10 ints in 7 games.

Jason Sullivan, picked 6th overall.
I think you mean Johnathan Sullivan.
DT Johnathan Sullivan, the sixth overall pick of the 2003 draft and once thought of as the next in a line of big, athletic and disruptive defensive tackles. The Saints thought so highly of him that they passed on CB Marcus Trufant and other successful defensive linemen like Terrell Suggs or Kevin Williams. It was a shock at a time that the Saints would take Sullivan, especially when the "heavy lunch bunch" of Norman Hand, Grady Jackson and Martin Chase was intact.
anyone remember what we gave up to pick Sullivan at#6?

Mario Bates.
are you kidding me? the worst? Not even close. he had a few decent plays in him for being a small time player

Definitely not Brooks, I'll stick with Shawn Knight

Cost us a bunch of money and two draft picks played in 36 games and had 1.5 sacks.

The 17th and 18th picks that year. That pick didn't make sense to anyone, not even at the time.
Look at the first rounders we passed up:
Jordan Gross
Kevin Williams
Terrell Suggs
Marcus Trufant
Troy Polamalu
Dallas Clark
Kwame Harris
Andre Woolfolk
Nnamdi Asomugha

The worst was Chip Lohmiller. Seriously. I've been a Saints fan for almost 40 years.
It's Chip Lohmiller.
It's Chip Lohmiller.

Aaron Brooks
Anyone who says Brooks is the worst is retarded. He may have smiled after INTs but the guy is still the Saints all-time leader in many categories and led the Saints to their 1st playoff win and 2nd division title. He only had 1-2 losing seasons as well. He hardly qualifies as the worst player in Saints history.

Anyone who says Fred Thomas is the worst player in franchise history has been watching the Saints for approximatly 3 years.
I'd go with Sullivan or Shuler as at least 2 of the worst.
