I honestly would love to move Ingram for an athletic big.

Trey's game is so much more efficient.

Let him have his bad game tonight. We'll need him to produce like himself tomorrow.

He's still playing hard on defense. You couldn't say the same earlier this season or last year when his shot wasn't falling.

Also had 7 assists and 5 boards. Impacting the game without having a good scoring game.

7 assists and 5 rebounds. You can actually help your team somewhat even if you have a terrible shooting night, which he did.

it's not stupid, it's a fact... we are going to go younger, and the guy that is behind him is our sharpest shooter... period... even the guy at the 2, Hawkins, can supply shooting, effort on D, and rebounding...

factor that in, a shift to younger players, the 3 would be Trey, the 2 would be Hawkins, and the 4 would be Zion, where does Ingram fit into our future plans? his value to us is what can he bring back as far as a trade... straight up, it is what it is... i'm not hating on the guy, it's just the business of basketball

It’s a fact his days in New Orleans are numbered? The level of dumb in this statement is off the charts.

Ingram shoots above 50%. He gives us a unique playstyle. Different from Murphy.

We'll likely have a small window to keep most of this core together. We need a decent tall backup center. Not trade Ingram

I told my son that while we were watching. He’s so expendable. A nice athletic big would be fantastic. Plus we’d get to shed his ridiculous contract.

We’re not trading Ingram; we’re probably going to extend him. Bigs are cheaper and not expensive. Wings like Ingram are not expendable. Just cause Trey has a good game and BI has a bad game- doesn’t mean its time to get rid of BI.

Unfortunately on this board that’s exactly what it means.

this isn't based on just this game... Trey is the future at the 3... he currently has a higher ceiling than that of BI... BI is what he is, but ain't going to get any better than he currently is...

the core of Trey, Hawkins, Herb, and Dyson are who they are going to go forward in pairing with Zion for the future of this franchise... BI is a diminishing return, going forward...

take your emotion out of it... no one is saying he's a fricking bum... i'm saying, long term, BI is more of an asset, now that we have other shooters, by what he can bring us in trade value... its a business, and that's just the way I see the franchise going as far as direction

What “you’re seeing” as the way the franchise may go is an opinion. It sure as hell isn’t a FACT.

you are correct here...

quote:

It sure as hell isn’t a FACT.

it's pretty based on fact and historical evidence of how teams shed older, "peaked" players for younger, up and coming bigger potential players, especially when said older player is on a bloated contract...

we currently have a log jam at the 2 and 3 with BI, Trey, Herb, and Hawkins... 3 of those guys are young and improving, and that improvement may lead them to better than what we are getting with BI... they are cheaper too, at least for now... so, with all that FACT, it's not that hard to form a pretty good picture on which to base an opinion....

is your opinion we keep BI over one of those 3? there's no way that all of them stay and stay happy with playing time, especially once contract times roll around for those younger guys
