Excellent post and what I was fishing for.
LSU was dead in the water and he patched together success.
Next year won’t be anything epic but I’m hoping it sets us up for a huge year 4. Half the base will squeal like pigs when we go 9-4 but we will get everyone back and be deep.
I’m excited and anxious about the off season. We are close to being elite again but we need to replace our entire defensive staff. None of them are LSU material

JD is special. I want to see how the next season goes. If he can sustain 10 win seasons, he will eventually win a few titles here with the new playoff system. Consistency is key and not many teams have shown that.

He did patch things together last year and everyone was excited especially after beating Alabama. What is concerning is the disconnect BK had preseason with his defense. He led us to believe that the defense with the return of Mason Smith and the emergence of Perkins in his new role along with the transfer portal dbs would be elite. Then again after Auburn he seemed to find a way to be critical of his offense, that he was tired about hearing negative about his defense. He seems to be a coach who relies heavily on his coordinators and I recall when he took this job that Norte Dame folks saying that he would have difficulty when his coordinators didn’t follow him. Maybe just a defensive coordinator. He has done well but most standards but will need to make an outstanding hire in a defensive coordinator who can recruit or bring other coaches who can recruit to level the playing field with Georgia.

While I've had frustration with some things this season, the perception of BK's resume since coming to LSU compared to other coaches is frickING WILD.
Freeze, Napier, Riley, Norvell, Freeman, Cristobal etc.
Literally none of these people are on par with what Kelly has done in his first two years compared to theirs.
He's potentially going to have back to back 10 win seasons coming out of the best division in college football and people want to talk like he's failing. It's actually crazy and clearly is skewed because some don't like him personally.
Take any other coach at any other program and having this start would be seen as incredibly positive.
But somehow BK is talked about like the guy is borderline on the hot seat.
So fricking stupid.
Finally a rational astute observation. 70% of this board doesn't have a clue about football and how good BK is. All they ever know is FIRE FIRE FIRE. Like vultures they are now circling House like they circled Ensminger when he was at LSU. Ensminger made fools of em and I believe House will to. If BK runs him off then I will agree with the vultures.
That 70% doesn't deserve a coach like BK.
