What is so special about pink butcher paper?

Was kind of wondering the same thing. I've cut and wrapped a decent amount of deer meat back in the day and never saw pink paper.

What is pink butcher paper exactly? To get precise for a moment, pink butcher paper is made from FDA-approved, 100% food-grade virgin Southern Pine pulp. The paper is pink because it isn't bleached, unlike the more traditional white butcher paper you'll find in most local butchers.
