The problem is Josh is a huge crook and everyone knows it. To me, Josh is the devil you know. Alot of R's I know are anti-Josh because of the shite he's pulled.

Name denotes that I live in Lafayette, and I’m worried we have enough lefties that will vote on their emotion as opposed to the facts.
Neither candidate is perfect, but the only thing Blanco did to qualify herself for the role was being born and then switching her party from d-r less than a year ago.
Not really a fan of the other guy, wish we had someone who didn’t ooze used car salesman.

It's certainly possible if enough democrats and white women vote for her.
Not voting for her but Josh isn't a very competent mayor. He could easily lose or win depending on turnout.

Can you expound for those of us who don't live in Lafayette? The mere fact that a Blanco could unseat an incumbent Republican as Lafayette mayor speaks volumes. What's the issue with Guillory?

Publicly? Accusations of illegal activity. Making contactors do work for LCG in other parishes in Army Corp of Engineer right of way. Conflict of interests..like starting business renting heavy equipment and giving LCG contracts to that business, then transferring it to a family members name. There are things he did to get the old utility director out that effect multiple people in leadership to get his buddy in, and when the engineer of record deemed that person unqualified, he fired that firm. This is just the tip.
ETA: With that said, I don't want Blanco.

This. Guillory is a cheese dick. He oozes used care salesman and he just comes across as inauthentic as hell. It's on display every thursday on KPEL. He is though, the devil we know. Anyone who votes for Blanco is an idiot.

He basically just set up a business with his buddies and did it on his own without bidding properly or something. But it did get done.

My thoughts exactly.
For me, it's not really even about Monique Blanco Boulet as a person. I don't know her at all.
It does not matter if it is Monique, Taylor, Mike, Conrad, or sweet Melissa from the old Lynyrd Skynyrd song, DEMOCRAT is such a bad brand, and I cannot vote for any of them, no matter how much I may like them personally.
Here is why: This is not the democratic party of your father or grandfather anymore. It was hijacked long ago by socialists and wokeism before wokeism was a thing. Non-productivity (welfare lifestyle) and non-accountability (increased crime) have been rewarded and are the antithesis of America.
Cleveland, Detroit...just a shell of their former selves....now New Orleans is the murder capital of America......Baton Rouge is quickly becoming the next shithole and possibly uninhabitable as a result of democratic leadership, all in the name of progressivism.
Who is next? Step right up Lafayette and make a stand. Big democrat money and George Soros-funded DAs, 501 C3 "corporations" and judges can't wait to change our beautiful community into something we do not recognize.

Plus, if we let her party fraud and open insult to our intelligence stand, we'll only get more and more of it. Not that I think Josh's conservatism is rock solid, but I'd rather have a used car salesman than a democrat party trooper in sheep's clothing.

I’m not saying Guillory is a good candidate, he sided with JBE too many times during the pandemic , but Blanco was a demoRAT as of last year, she’s more then a rino , she a wolf in sheep’s clothing
