We seriously lucked up. End of a single lane road. 1.38 acres and it wasn't as expensive as you think it should be in our area. An older man bought about 11 acres for cheap and started dividing it out and didn't seem to care what the going rate was for land but just wanted to make a little money

No it won’t. Dutchtown isn’t even in the top 10.

I count 6th place if you only look at open enrollment schools.

Do you know how hot those things get in the summer in LA? It’s like playing on a baking sheet in an oven. A drawback imo.

Open enrollment & selective schools are measured by the same standards.

You also excluded private schools. Your original claim was that it was one of, if not the top school in the entire state which is laughable.

The input in that equation isn't the same standard though. Easy to post higher scores when you get to pick and choose who gets in vs everyone in a geographic boundary. 85% of school scores have to do with the student body/families in the area. The remainder is the school's influence (probably being generous)

...one of the top *public* schools...

how's that?

I'm still wondering how the drainage will hold up in that area with all the extra concrete, etc.

Why is this considered state of the art? I know it looks good and more importantly as for as the school goes, no one has to paint the field and keep up with the grass, but studies show that turf fields are not that great on the knees and that more knee injuries happen on turf fields. Grass is the safest surface to play on, plus it doesn't get hot as turf does.

Nobody really knows but they have been digging out/clearing the ditches and canals in the area I've noticed. They're working on a canal off 930 right now so at least they are doing something.

I haven’t heard this, would be great if true.

My daughter swims for Crawfish and will be attending the school next year.

I don't know what your kind are but I've been in the area since '77. I've seen no problems. I'd be surprised if feelings weren't hurt along the way but the large majority will support our neighbors. I've been to a few sporting events lately after a few years absence. I noticed a lot of different colored skin on the field, in the stands and in the band. Black & white kids along with some in between roaming the area like normal. BUT I think there was even more mixing than ever before. I could tell many more stories but you get the point. If someone will sell you some land there is a very good chance the neighbors will either be friendly or just ignore you. Many ignore me. It has nothing to do with skin color. LOL.

Personally I'm pissed but that's just because half of my friend group is being sent to the school. This is my last year with my friend group intact before we all get split
