It’s a shame, they didn’t used to do that. A few years back we went in, had an overpriced cocktail at the bar, and left. Last year we were there and they weren’t letting non-guests in. To be honest, I get why.
Will be in the city in a few weeks and don’t plan on stopping by there again.

So I probably need to purchase RF skating tickets prior to leaving but if I wanted a buggy/horse ride around park and such should I pay the $400 offered online for group of 4 or deal once I arrive? Same with Broadway tickets, not planning to go but will there be tickets for sell on street? Just curious if these are hard to get once there, this time of year

e have stayed at the Hilton Midtown and the Sheraton Times Square. Both are great locations. The Rockettes Christmas show is a must see for us.
That Hilton Conrad on 53rd and 6th is a great location. The room layout was ideal the years we stayed tbere. The hotel itself is nice but not with great F&B amenities. I really like that location. We stayed there for Thanksgiving week a few times.

I’ve done Christmas there a few times, last year included. When you say a nicer hotel, a price range would be helpful. Because a nicer hotel can be the Park Plaza - but enjoy the $800-1000/night cost.
All of the hotels in Manhattan are super expensive pretty much all year round. When my family visited NYC, we had to stay across the state line in NJ because of how fricking expensive all of the hotels are there. A fricking Hampton Inn in Manhattan went for no less than $400 a night, and that was in early spring when it wasn’t tourist season

This isn't true.

Yes it is. Look up the Hampton Inn at Times Square, a double-queen bedroom goes for $430 a night right now

Re entry into the Plaza Hotel - I was there last week and it was closed to only hotel guests at around 2:00pm, but I later read that you can get in if you go before 9am. Hope that helps!

Next time check out the Washington Square Hotel near Greenwich Village. We stayed there last week for less than $300/night during the week and we loved it!

Just came back Sunday from a girls trip. I love Johns Pizza Times Square. The building is just beautiful and the pizza is great. They have great Espresso Martinis. Tell them to add Baileys.
You cannot get into the Plaza. Guests only. Make a reso for ice skating. I would suggest Woolman Rink or Bryant Park. RF Center is not necessary. The crowds around RF Center and Saks were insane. Walking down from there to Times was worse than dealing with crowds at Mardi Gras.
Christmas in NYC is the best! Set your itinerary to do the north side on Manhattan on one day and the South on the second. That is what we did and it worked out great!
Happy to answer any questions!
