Lainey Wilson just set the CMA awards on fire. Incredible performance.

I wasn't even watching, but it was on in the other room. She did this song I guess called "Wild Horses"
Pretty amazing.
Her band was great too, especially the guy on the Telecaster. (he looked scared to death)
Thinkin about trading out my pearl white pickguard for plain black.

My mom, sister, and niece were in Dollywood last weekend, and they crossed paths with her. My 10 year old niece, who is a big fan, couldn't resist talking to her. Lainey was very sweet, and kind to my niece, and took a picture with her, my sister, and my mother, and even sung a song for my niece. She's ok in my book.

Her sister dated a guy in my class in high school and was hanging out with us. Occasionally Lainey would tag alone. I dated one of Lainey’s friends for a few months when she had just started playing college bars back in 2012 or so. I was checking out at a gas station in Wisner last year and she and her sister walked in. She actually recognized me came up to me said my name and hugged me before I recognized her. She remembered me and asked if I ever became a doctor (I was applying to medical school at time I was dating her friend) I thought that was really impressive because it had been over ten years since I had last spoken to her, she meets tons of people, is famous, and I didn’t date her friend for very long. Despite how I portray myself on TD, I am not that memorable of a person. So she really is a good person and fame hasn’t changed her yet.

I have to say, I have severely underappreciated her as just another "manufactured female hit machine", but after spending some time diving into her material today, this girl can write.
She has focus
She would be a winner, no matter what she had chosen to do. She just chose songwriting, instead of Real Estate, Home Decorating or Romance Novels.
I bet her family are some great people.
