LSU opens as a -14.0 favorite vs Florida

That seems extremely generous with uncertainty about JD's status and Mertz completing over 73% of his passes. They're also running well with Etienne and Montrell Williams both averaging over 5 ypc (Etienne is at 6 ypc). The good news is that Mertz is not a runner and we will be facing a pro-style offense.
Maybe we can keep the score in the 30's.

Definitely very generous if JD is out.
However,
Florida throws screens like it's going out of business, thats why his completion percentage is so high. PFF charts him at nearly 1 in every 3 passes are behind the LOS, these are 90%+ throws for anyone. Their offense has proven ineffective many times this season, see - 11 against Utah, 22 against Charlotte, 14 against Kentucky, 20 against UGA...they've sputtered quite a bit this season offensively.

Vegas anticipating that Daniels is playing?

We will play soft zone and attack their middle whilst shutting down the edges thereby holding them to just 250 yds rushing.
That should work right?

If Nuss starts, LSU loses.

Taking out a property loan and putting it all on UF +14 if Nuss plays - then will buyout Matt House

That line will crash if JD isn’t playing. Should probably be more like LSU -6 if Nuss gets the start.

Guys, Florida has given up 39+ points the last 3 games, and that is not even to mention where they got stomped by Kentucky and Utah. They are not very good.;

If Daniels is 100% it will be like the Auburn game with UF scoring maybe a TD more than Auburn did. They are terrible.

Vegas think Matt House is fired and Daniels is healthy?
Mertz is going to have a career day Saturday.

As far as Mertz's stats they are a little skewed w most of his passes being short.
Our defense has been tough to watch but to be fair, he had his best games vs Charlotte, Kentucky, Vandy, and South Carolina---none of which are known for their defense.
Florida hasnt been good on the road besides defeating a deflated SC team in a close one.
-14 seems like a lot but I would be all over it if it was a -10. Dont think they will be able to keep up with us whether its JD or the Nuss Bus-- we have too many skilled players on offense

JD will play.

Not if Nuss starts, it is even. JD5 starts then yes.

The line tells you that Jayden will play. I know everyone will disagree with but I don’t think he ever had a concussion. When they showed him on the sideline and on the field his eyes were never glassy, he never looked confused and he was talking with the trainers and all. I think the concern was because of jaw shot he took and I one was in pain there based on they checking him out on the sideline. If he had a concussion he would be passing these test this fast and the gamblers know this that is why the line has stayed pretty steady

Vegas expects Daniels to play. They also expect LSU will be pissed off. Combined with Florida losing last week to Arkansas, they have no momentum going on the road. Our championship aspirations are over so there is no "ruin their season" angle either.
LSU is best against QBs that can't run and Mertz is not a deep ball thrower at all. He may take a few deep shots, but they are a methodical passing offense that relies on their WRs to make plays in space. They run pretty decently, but they will need to pass and pass a lot to keep up with LSU at home.

Our mutual performances vs Arkansas should be pretty telling. We beat Arkansas by 3 at home. Arkansas beats Florida by 3 at Florida. We played defense like crap against Arkansas and I doubt what we now have can't play anything worse against Florida than they did against Arky. Home field usually gets the home team about a field goal.
Doing the math, a "down" day [on the heels of another loss to Alabama causing our normal lull the Saturday-after], give the home team 3 points and you have a lackluster LSU performance with Daniels in at 9 points. Nuss will give us a win, but much more uncomfortably.
