Why hasn't he started more this year over the transfer brigade?

The defensive staff is incompetent.

A August freshman isn’t the same as a November freshman

He's going to be really good before his days are done in Death Valley.

To be fair, Alabama didn't really need to throw the ball

Considering how week we have been in the secondary and the walking wounded we have had its crazy that they didnt get him in the games more. YOu have to play talented freshman. The further they are away from the ball the easier it is to transition. WE have several young players that needed to be playing sooner. Its been painfully obvious

Wasn’t he an EE?

There is definitely a much greater reluctance to play young players on the defensive side of the ball than there is on offense. I definitely put that on House. Even this year, we’ve seen several freshmen get rotation mins in SEC games on a veteran-heavy offense.

“Hey Jalen, run outside & score a TD”

But yes, he had a good game.

Brian Kelly has a long track record of playing seniority & experience over young talent. He probably brought the guys in from the portal & guaranteed them playing time to come here or some nonsense. He has told is in multiple press conferences that the young freshman don't have experience but how are they supposed to get any experience if they don't ever see the field?

Sounds super creepy out of context

I blame this play on Burns being slow to read the play, slow to react, and too slow in general after taking a bad angle.

Explain the following:

- 2 starting freshmen tackles in year one. One was definitely going to happen, but they could have forced their way to not playing Jones if what you say was actually true.

- Starting a freshman TE in year one. They could have tried to land someone (or tamper to break one loose) in the portal. They didn’t.

- Heard and Chester have both played SEC rotation mins this year on an OL loaded with experienced players and some older backups.

- Markway is getting reps at TE in meaningful games.

- Kaleb Jackson is getting carries over several backs with more experience.

Impact freshmen are able to break through on offense. The issues getting young players on the field is almost exclusively on the defensive side of the ball.

Go ahead, but you’d be wrong

That was a terrible mistake by Toviano to run inside like that, but that being said, that’s really the only mistake I remember he made during the game.

Their QB is trash. I’ll need to see more but it’s a good start for sure.

Wrong. House got caught on a short-side corner blitz call. Toviano was always crashing inside on that play, and it was always going to be a TD because of the play calls.
