We have water pumped in and duck numbers are reported good on our farm. I dont wish ill on anyone, but hoping that having water will take our hunting from being fair to pretty good this season.

As long as I get an east wind a couple days a week, I’ll have water, even if it doesn’t rain this winter.

Anyone hearing any reports on Venice? I'll be out there Saturday morning.

Not a drop, and I rely exclusively on the rain.
We'll have to hunt public water until we get a couple good 2 day soakers to start catching on our private property.

I hunt a pit buried into a field road. The south field is full, the north field needs another 2 inches to be full.
That said we had so many ducks trying to commit suicide this weekend during early speck I think I'll be fine even if it doesn't rain.

We are hurting for water. We've got a little bit, enough to hunt. but not ideal

Some, will probably pump in more before the open but we'll see what happens Friday. Couple of ponds are thick with sorghum sudan and the ducks were hiding all in it. At least 100 in one pond and 250 in the other. Lots of spoonbills.

Our Flooded timber/swamp near the Calcasieu is bone dry. Usually 20 acres of 1ft-5ft of water in there.

Stuttgart area is slammed if you have water.

I can see a couple ways of looking at this. On the positive side, I like being the only game in town so to speak. OTOH, all those slightly flooded fields made sure there were plenty of ducks in the general area.

Last weekend’s rain saved us in NE AR. Most fields have water. Rivers filled up quickly, but dropping just as fast with the Mississippi being so low.

Venice: Lil SI hunted youth. It was slow. BW & pintails. And they are scattered. Probably all be gone after everyone runs thru it before opening morning. Same reports from PAL,Delta,& Public.
One thing I noticed fishing , nothing growing in the ponds.

Little water pumped here. Seeing a few mallards in the afternoon on some rice. I tons of woodies though. Pumping up a little right now though.
I usually don’t start duck hunting hard until late December

One of our holes has water, but everything else is drier than the Sahara.

Best you can hope for this year is sheet water if you don't have levees. Takes a lot of rain to keep decent huntable amounts of sheet water. Tough hunting too.

Plenty of birds in Venice. Just all off the beaten path. Gotta know where to go there’s still good feed in areas.

As long as diesel is for sale we’ll have water. Ducks on the other hand are subject to higher power approval.

I have water but it's low and will be hard as hell for the dogs to get cripples. Lake is down 20".
