What are the best CD rates you are seeing, and for what term? Local CSE credit union has a 6 month CD with 5.8% apy, capital one has a 10 month 5.3% apy.

raisin savings accounts you can get up to about 5.27%. i don't see benefits in cd's at the time.

why lock it up in a CD? when MM funds are paying over 5%?

I just got 5.75% on a 13 month at a community bank here in North Georgia. There is another bank here in town at 5.60% on a 13 month.

Why not make 5.8% instead of 5%?

*5.27
Your locking it up for over a year for .54% more. That's a choice for you to make. The ability to say jump into a stock market play or another investment is well worth .54 of a point.

Just got a 5.9 1 year through Chase on etrade

5.8% for six months at CSE credit union. As it says in the title, I was just asking what are the best rates you guys are seeing?

sorry. it's a good rate, probably can't be beat to be honest. So its your call locking it up. Depending on how much invested of course, it would be easy to put a dollar value on valuing the flexibility and what's that worth to you.

Locking it up also commits the bank. Those MM rates can go away with the quickness.

They aren't, but if they do that means the equity market and bond market will be making a lot more than 5.8%.
The highest I saw in our offering was from the Bank of China.

Columbia House had the best. 10 CDs for a penny

Cd rates are guaranteed. Savings rates can change instantly

Based on what?
Posted on 10/26/23 at 8:41 pm to MSTiger33
I still owe them a lot of money

The savings rates are extremely unlikely to go down until the fed reduces interest rates and there likely is still one more raise left, I wouldn’t be worried about savings rates going down imminently.

Not if it’s a callable CD like I bet that Chase one is
