Mike Johnson has lost zero votes from members of his party so far, CNN political director notes

CNN Political Director David Chalian notes that as the House approached the halfway mark of the floor vote, Republican Mike Johnson has lost zero votes from members of his party.

"Look at where it says others. Zero. We have not been here before in this whole process. Zero members are voting for somebody other than the two nominees," Chalian said.

"Folks at home, this is actually what a speaker's contest usually looks like in the House of Representatives," he added.
Chalian noted that the last Republican candidate to win the speaker's gavel on the first vote was Paul Ryan in 2017.

How do Republicans in good faith, select a speaker that was an election denier. Having a grasp of democracy should be a requirement. Better yet, being able to count should be an equally important requirement.

Explain in detail what makes him an “election denier”

Don’t use vague phrases and don’t recite CNN’s headline. Be specific.

In the other voting threads you could tell the “gotta have it now” crowd was present with all the doom and gloom. Amd those who said this was politics in its purest form were mostly crusified.

But this is what patience can get you, a better outcome. Simce McCarthy gave away everything there is nowhere to go but up.

Mike Johnson is one of us with a suit on. He believes in the things we do. He will havecto make some deals that we may not like but he’ll do way more than McCarthy and that means this whole gambit was worthwhile.

Now we can solidify and stop the BS bills and funding as needed . And work to unite for 2024 amd get rid of Chyna Joe

How do Democrats in good faith, select a speaker that is a prolific inside trader. Having a grasp of ethics should be a requirement.
