I have a roughly 20' x 3' garden bed that maybe only gets a few hours of sun per day (north facing).

Any recommendations for shrubs / plants that can thrive with not much sun?

Thanks in advance!

Shi Shi Gashira camellia & vintage jade distillium are two of my favorites. Will not bring in a lot of color, but rock solid in South Louisiana

I actually have shi shi camelia in a different bed that is west facing but don't flower much, but have done really well .

Thanks for the recommendations!

I have something similar. I lined the front edge of the bed with big blue liriope which has a great purple flower in last summer. I have some cast iron plants in another shaded bed but that another option as is pink muhly grass. I've also put some things in large planters that I can move around to get them more sun when needed.

How do they handle winter / cold? Do they need to be covered up?

Will lose all of their leaves but survive even a hard winter.
