Seriously, who would want to be a cop in BTR?

To me it's unclear whether or not the guy that was killed was even a part of it. Could have been but still unclear.

Police said that just before the crash happened, a marked BRPD Ford Explorer with lights and sirens activated was headed west on Government Street. The BRPD unit entered the intersection and crashed into a Chevrolet Impala that was headed south on South Foster Drive, according to BRPD.

The government just killed an innocent person. You are lamenting that pushback against that makes it less desirable to be a government worker?

For those of you that are dumb and confused, this is how it played out.
1. BRPD responds to S 15th/Government for a report of people carrying weapons.
2. The people carrying weapons exchange gunfire with BRPD officers.
3. The officers who were shot at called for help.
4. The officers rushing to help those who were shot at ended up crashing at S Foster/Government.

It’s amazing how reckless some cops drive.

5. And killing somebody who had nothing to do with the call and was just driving

Female drivers are bad enough, can’t imagine a female cop driving at high speed

No, I think he's lamenting the thousand other times when someone who "dindu nothing" got rightfully shthammered by the Police, but the usual grifters ignore the facts of the case and try to make all cops villains.

well... we have this addis policeman who killed two female high school students just recently. I don't think it has gone to court yet.
Then brpd gets outed on its' torture warehouse and the chief goes out on the metro council in public making himself an arse.
And now we have the br police person who killed this man at Foster and Government.
It does not look good for the police.
At this point I'm for the Sheriff to go ahead and take control of all police work in the parish and go ahead and shut down the brpd and sell off its' equipment.
When this case hits the courts the city police is going to get wallowered out.

Cops run lights and sirens for a reason.

Let me guess, the People carrying weapons and shooting at officers haven’t been caught yet and probably won’t.

Why do you say that? We have 21st century policing and community based cops. I heard the mayor say that.

Lights and sirens don’t give cops a license to completely disregard public safety.
There’s always going to be some speed at which blowing through a red light at a busy intersection amounts to negligence. I would be very curious to know how fast they were actually going and whether the other driver actually had a green light.
On the one hand, the other driver was (reportedly) deaf which would have slowed his reaction time compared to another driver. On the other hand, there were 8 vehicles (including the police car and the driver who was killed) involved in the accident and an engine block was completely separated from one of the vehicles.
Pictures from the scene of the accident:

Either that pole is strong as shite or the picture is deceiving. That Explorer should’ve taken down that pole.

The government DID NOT kill an innocent person...they were rushing to help fellow officers, the guy was deaf and didn't hear sirens and it was a horrible ACCIDENT. Get off the cop hatred.
