The secondary was almost as bad as this season with more talent and depth in 2020 and was pretty terrible for over half of 2021 until the O took his hands off of the defense and let them blitz.
And that doesn’t even get into recruiting toward the end. His 2019 and 20 classes should be starting right now, and there’s not one guy left (Burns was a transfer). Ricks quit and then bailed only to sit the bench. McGlothern was allowed to be a frick up and got himself tossed. The rest were projects who didn’t work out.
What’s not to love here?

CR reminded me of Les, his last few years I thought we underperformed at the CB position. That being said, I would love us to try and get him back. If he wants to come home it tells me he should be reenergized. I have faith in BK to fix this defense issue this Summer. I kind of hope Baylor falls off a cliff

I don't think he is a good coach, I would take Ron Cooper over him every day, and this will make some of y'all mad, but as a football coach, I would take Doug Mallory over him too.

Ron Cooper over Raymond is fair. Robert Steeples over Raymond is stupid. Steeples shouldn’t coach McNeese DBs

Cooper or Raymond would be an improvement from our current technique. We don’t even look like a LSU secondary.
And a DB coach is not responsible for player off field behavior. Same as blaming Moffitt for players who won’t show up for workouts.

You do know that two things can be true right? Our secondary is well below standard and everyone with eyes can see that. Corey Raymond is also a below average secondary coach and a big reason our secondary is in the shape it’s currently in.

Not happy at all about it. I think we beat them, but my god they are bad. Seeing people think we upgraded is tiresome. We’ve massively regressed. Should be the first coaching change in the offseason
