A guy who worked on the AC in my house recommended against getting really “good” ones. He said the AC unit would struggle to pull air through it even on day 1 and it would just get worse over time. He recommended going cheap and switching monthly.

My AC guy told me the same thing. He saw I had a pleated filter and he asked me" Do you sleep with your head under a blanket?". He said it made your unit work much harder. Buy spun fiberglass and keep them changed.
