With the commitment of CJ Jackson, LSU now has 18 4*’s on 247, tied with Georgia for the most 4*’s, LSU also has 19 4*’s on ON3, tied with Oregon for the most 4*’s.

While we may not have a 5* this is where the bread and butter is in revamping our roster again. Kelly and company know what they are doing, and things aren’t always so doom and gloom just because we don’t have a top 25 player or so at least yet. Thought I should post this because some clowns want to take shots at our recruiting tactics.

So you’re saying it’s a very good class top to bottom?

But I keep hearing Kelly can’t recruit and LSU is falling behind the rest of college football.

It's a solid class. Fills needs at positions that need them, DB/LB/WR/OL. It has serious holes at QB and DL, a few questionable takes(this is normal), and postions like OL(I like) and WR(not so much) that opinions can drastically vary from experts and fans alike. A potential star at TE and RB.
I can live with Hurley, not a big fan of Johnson or Breaux. Like Washington and love Jackson. DB is potentially special. LB group likely hit and miss. It's fair some don't see the gloom of some or the sunshine of others.

You do, you took time out of your day to post. Go stir the pot elsewhere.

I'd we just get one or two 5 star recruits, this would be a top 5 class.

Nabors was a 4 star. So was Emery Jones, Dellinger, Diggs etc etc

Some of these dudes will vastly outperform their high school rankings

They are behind 8 other teams currently. Not horrible but not great

It’s the fact we’ve lost key battles to Texas schools again. That and not addressing our biggest weakness at DT and the rest of the line. No amount of 4* can make up the impact Simmons or McKinley would have on this team.

This class is fine and it’s okay to be happy to see how they develop.

I don’t really respect the “stars don’t matter” people though assuming they’re watching Perkins every week be the only reason we have a serviceable defense. Rankings absolutely matter.

You can absolutely win championships with 4 stars. They are also more likely to give you that extra year of playing.

If McKinley ever makes an impact at the college level, it will be after at least 2 years of development. 5 star Dlinemen are supposed to be impact players who push for time as a freshman. Like Simmons.

I think it's fair to say people overreacted to his height/weight at his age, because his play has never really justified his ranking.

Getting 4 star Reliford will be more impactful than flipping 5 star McKinley, who will very likely lose that 5th star when the final rankings come out BTW.
