Are we still happy the Texans picked Williams?

remember if Bush was off the board, by all accounts Super Mario was our guy
we'd have a speed rusher finally and we wouldn't be paying grant all that money (could have traded him for something also)

i think thats a reach. you know for sure the saints would of picked up williams?
Plus like him or hate bush has done fairly well as a player for this team, just not as a RB. He hasn't lived up to his #1 money, but as an football player he isn't a bust.

i'm pretty sure AJ Hawk was our guy and we may have tried to trade down a few spots.

but the saints could have signed a guy like michael turner and drafted mario and come out way ahead
you can always, and i mean always, find RBs

that wouldn't have worked out any better than bush, especially money-wise

very well so, but Reggie was predicted number 1, when he fell to number 2, it was a gimme to pick him up or to trade for someone who was probably going to pick him up.

seeing how little we run the ball Williams would have been the better pickup, especially since we have not made any good pickups on our oline. We aren't built up front to run the ball.

As true as this is, you had no idea that bush wouldn't succeed as a running back. He could of had a stellar year like Adrien Peterson, he just didn't. However, he did have a fairly could year as a player.
You don't know for sure how williams would of performed as a saint he could of very well been a bust here as well. Players are overpaid coming out of the draft because its by potential alone and bush had a lot of potential.

I think Brick Ferguson was our guy. He's not that great.
Plus Reggie was huge for the Saints in the aftermath of Katrina.

steve slaton has already surpassed reggie's career high in rushing yards...yay
but like jandro said short term the move had to be made

Sed and MW on this same line would be sick for years to come

Yes, the selection of Bush solidified the season ticket sellout which at that time was more important than anything else.

Wouldn't matter......Paytons philosophy would still be the same....pass first, run second

doesnt matter, if we had picked Williams he would be slow and overwieght and Reggie would be breaking off 70 yd runs for the Texans
