LSU commit Xavier Atkins with a huge INT for Summer Creek. What a senior season for the LB

The guy reminds me of Patrick Queen. He’s super fast for his position.

Could you imagine if we lost him and he ended up a 5 star? Lol

It looks like On3 is saying he's almost a lock to flip to Aggies?

I thought he shut down his recruiting?

He has said he shut his recruitment down and locked into LSU
quote:
2024 four-star Humble (Tex.) Summer Creek linebacker and LSU commitment Xavier Atkins is shutting down his recruitment, he told On3. Atkins was in town this weekend for the win over Arkansas, when he told the staff he was locked in.
“I’m shutting it down for sure,” he told On3 in late August. “Just thinking a lot and really realizing where I want to be at, where I want to be at. I’m from Louisiana, so it’s just a dream, man. Having an LSU offer and being committed there, just going to play, it’s every Louisiana’s kid dream. I don’t care what nobody say.”
Atkins committed to the Tigers on July 5, 2022. Programs like Arkansas, TCU, Colorado, Utah, Texas A&M and others are trying to flip him and he’s taken numerous offseason visits.
Before this weekend, LSU hadn’t hosted the 6-1, 190-pound prospect for a visit since April, but he’s been to Baton Rouge plenty and the Louisiana native is ready to play for his home state.
“I got mad love for LSU,” Atkins said. “Every campus I’ve been to or every visit — don’t get me wrong it’s always been a good time — But it ain’t that feeling when you’re in your home state. LSU, it’s just different from everybody else. Everybody can’t do what Death Valley do. Death Valley just hits different.”

It’s not over until he signs. The big bags drop at the 11th hour.

That's a fact, but whoever made the decision it was ok to move on from this kid needs to be fired. He looks exactly like the type of player the team is missing. Glad he is back in the fold.

It’s honestly probably somewhere close to in the middle.

Did he get downgraded to a 4* in a matter of hours wtf?!

I like this group we have coming in ‘24
Atkins, Cobbins, Bates, McBryde, Rogers, Singleton, Jujuan Johnson.
Maybe Mack flips…?
That’s a lot of homegrown guys right there

Correct. The insiders seem to think that based on his production he has a chance to earn the 5th.

I know I’m just correcting the question up above. That profile pic has him with 5 blank stars from all sites. Not a 5 star ranking. He didn’t drop in rating.

He started the season at 197, he’s in the range now of 208-212lb. One semester at LSU with the nutrition Ctr and weightlifting he could possibly be 220 going into fall. If he maintains his speed, he and Weeks would be a tough LB duo

Don't forget about LB Keys from Aledo. I believe future is bright at LB position.

I'm so glad they held onto this dude.
Like someone said he is similar to queen speedwise.
I'll just be glad to have some linebackers that want to hit someone.
