I like the BCS. I do think it needs a + 1 and act as a 4 team playoff using the BCS formula to decide the 4 teams.

I don't know about <3 the BCS, but in the past, the SEC Champ and Big XII Champ wouldn't even play each other, leading to this mess possibly not even being kinda sorted out on the field.

my only problem with the BCS this year is the fact that the Big East and ACC champs are going to make it into a BCS bowl over Boise State.

the goal of the BCS was designed to allow the top 2 ranked teams in their poll to play each other for the title.
i think they had it right in 03 and 04,but other than that, i think it has been pretty cut and dry
the way college football ranks and schedules teams is an absolute joke though

A plus 1 would be prefect. Keeps every game relevant and important and improves the post season

I don't remember, Utah wasn't 4th, although they should have been. Adding a +1 to the system exactly as it is now wouldn't be the best answer either.

i can't get to the info not because at work, but who was ranked 4th in each of those years going into the bowl games?

While I don't think it is the most fair way by any means, I think the drama leading up to the final standings and everything that goes with it is always enjoyable.
Even if there was a playoff system, people would still be bitching just like they do after Selection Sunday in March.
