114 in total defense.. sounds like he needs to be saying we have the coaches we have as well.
All seriousness, his response sounded like he was saying coaches are off limits in the presser. Be consistent in messaging and how you address groups in public. Players loyalty is just as important as coaches.
He’s called out players in a PC way before.
Let’s hope it’s what you’re saying, regardless of what he says in the press conference if he can fix the mess I’ll eat my words but as i look at these things I don’t have a lot of confidence

I doubt that. What I mean is that they’re not off limits to him and that’s the important thing. He’s not going to publicly dump on his staff. Behind closed doors, it’s probably not a pretty conversation when it’s just him and his coaches.
I get you want answers (so do I) but we’ll have to wait it out.
I definitely get your frustration though. I’m just as aggravated about the defense as you are.

Yeah clearly you just ran with what you wanted to hear. That’s not even close to what was said. You probably think we have an all American just sitting on the bench

First off, you have to take the statement in context. The question was essentially whether Kelly would look at having anyone else take over/help with defensive playcalling duties.
Kelly said he doesn’t think playcalling is the issue; the issue is in development of the players. He didn’t shy away from saying that they (the staff) had to do a better job of coaching the players up. He said it over and over again.
I tend to agree with him. I don’t think the issue is House calling bad games. The issue is (IMO) in the preparation of the players.
Does that mean House is doing just great as a DC? Ultimately no, because he’s responsible for coaching the players as well. But that was the context of the question asked at the presser.
That’s without getting into everything else that’s already been said about how no coach is going to say “my DC is terrible” at a press conference 5 games into the season.

I mean, what is he supposed to say? “The fricker sucks and he’s gone at season’s end”?
