No amount of money will get him to leave to Ruston for Baton Rouge. Especially with how large his family is.

after sacrificing family time for a NFL career I doubt he wants anything to do with the hours of a college football assistant

The board bitches about a CB coach who has little experience outside of HS coaching, but wants to hire a DL coach who has little to no experience coaching at the HS level and nothing higher; makes sense.

13 year NFL vet and LSU Alumni > Practice squad NFL player with ties to 1 HS.

What would people’s reaction be to hiring Tyrann Mathieu as a DB coach?

Typical poster who thinks because a guy played a position he can surely coach the position. That is usually not the case.

I would imagine williams, spears, Brady james, russle shepard, whitworth would all absolutely crush it after having such long nlt careers and learning to take care of their bodies and the science of their craft.

I would be very shocked if any of those guys had issues coaching at a college level

Keep in mind not all great coaches were great players and vice versa… coaching a position and playing one are 2 different things.

If you don't think a guy who overachieved into a damn near borderline HOF tackle with high school experience and connections in North Louisiana could have some upside, I don't know what to tell you.
