What happens now?
There will be a vote and it can be delayed by leadership for up to 48 hours.
If it succeeds, we go back to where we started in January.

IOW, McCarthy has to either get 218 GOP votes or get Dems to help him. 2 days to whip votes.

I don’t see it succeeding only because the Dems will push McCarthy over the top. But the GOP caucus better think long and hard about voting back in a guy who will beg the opposition for votes to save his own arse.

Good but I don’t want to hear Byron Donald’s for speaker. Should’ve been Jordan but he sided with Kevin.

I dunno about this - I have liked all the public stances Gaetz has stated - but I'll be damned if I can support something like this that requires the cooperation of a cadre of DEMOCRATs to accomplish.
There is NOTHING good that can come with 'cooperating' with democrats on ANY controversial item, regardless of how simple, but surely if it can end badly for conservative.
This can end badly for conservatives - and therefore any assistance sought from democrats cannot be supported.
There is not ONE moral democrat in the congress. not ONE. they are ALL under the bootheel of their 'leadership.'
they CANNOT be trusted - they can ONLY be opposed.

So it begins. I think he has bitten off more than he can chew but I like that he’s keeping his word. I’m sure the media is going to jump all over this and declare the radical MAGA wing of the republicans as starting a coup.

What are supporters of this hoping it will accomplish?
All possible scenarios is a W for Democrats as I see it.

Sigh
I like Gaetz, but this feels pointless. If Gaetz had a legit option to replace him that could get votes, sure…who is it though?

Then you should hate mccarthy.
He had a secret meeting with Biden to keep govt open, and it is to keep the Ukraine funnel alive.

Strong majority are GOPe, they will reason the ignoring of his begging the dems for votes as "working with the opposition for the good of the country".

Gaetz is a dumbass. He's helping the Democrats and you stupid assed nihilists are cheering him on.....for the entertainment value.
He and the dumbshit "Freedom" caucus are going to encourage the Democrats to vote for McCarthy. The price for that help is going to be high. Gaetz wins the battle and loses the war.
