Mississippi License plates

So how do all these local BR drivers have MS plates?
It is obvious a play to pay cheaper automobile insurance
With these rising rates, I need some help
Do these MS are drivers just claim someones residence in MS?
The amount of MS plate drivers is very much prevalent in northern East Baton Rouge

Not sure that saves you money. Our plates are annual and my (4) cost annually about $1700.00 total.

Mississippi has ad valorem tax (property tax) on cars, similar to South Carolina and a few other states. It is possible to have a car with a low enough assessed value to beat the combination of tax and insurance compared to LA.
I am not sure about MS but SC has very low sales tax on vehicles, it maxes at I think $350. Which offsets a few years of the property taxes.

Currently, there are 5 states that don't charge sales tax when purchasing a vehicle.
Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, and Oregon.
These 5 states also have considerably lower insurance premiums than Louisiana.
Many businesses are created and incorporated in these states, and many business owners purchase their vehicles through their corporations which are incoporated in these states.

I notice the same thing with Florida plates in coastal MS 
and they are all awful drivers

This same thread was done last week with Texas license plates.
You have to have residency in the state to license a vehicle in it.

Are you talking about my mom who registers their vehicles in MS at that home but live in DS?

Lots of NOLA people have houses in BSL, Waveland and The Pass and some register their vehicles at their vacation homes and it really doesnt save them any money

That too. Watched the LSU-Alabama game at the Blind Tiger in BSL one year. Would have thought it was a walk ons in BR

shite man, tons of NOLA folks head to the coast just for day trips..I'd say the majority of the houses in The Pass/BSL, on the water, are owned by NOLA/JP/Louisiana folks
