How much are our guys getting compared to A&M? Bama? UGS?

And do ALL of our players get paid, just different amounts based on signings with companies/businesses?

A&M, Texas and Bama are definitely giving out more money. They have more to give.

No not all players only. And it's differing amounts mostly.

Some have like o line deals that get the whole line the same amount but it's a free for all basically

So some could actually get none ... I still don't see how that doesn't cause team issues.

And the options to opt out, go into the portal all in my mind mess with team unity.

I'm not old but liked old school football meaning ... join a team, work hard, sink or swim.

We offer significantly less on the front end whereas an 8&4 promises cash up front.

The answer is that LSU does not have the means to compete on the same plane which will result in it being relegated to irrelevance very soon assuming it has not already happened.

There is plenty of money at LSU

When the boys do their “community service”
At the BR food bank each player for four hours of service (which each of them should be doing any way). Received 10,000. Dollars

get Gordy pays them but the they have to use him for their infringements. So a great deal for him.

I think the true issue rolls in on the collective You count on alumni to give back. We have a ton in the NFL. Very few give back to the team collective. They have all started their own foundations (honestly better than paying kids to play LSU football )

I am curious tho as to the feeling of getting 4 and 5 star players. Players ranked that high want to go to the NFL. So you want to go where a good coaching staff guy is to develop you. Is it the staff isn’t strong enough to show players we will make you a great player? Just looking at the Sanders experience. Not a ton of NIL but getting great players and they all say it’s the staff…..

Ticket money --- TAF fees ... does any of that go to NIL money? I'd almost like to see a chart of graph re: how much football takes in and where it goes.

I myself am not giving any more money aside from TAF seat fees and tickets. And then I'm always wondering why I still go to these games .. the last game was miserable. But it's the family outing for us so ...

No, that would be against the rules.

Oh I got you, like a 360 deal. First time I heard of this was the music label business. If a signed artist makes additional money on socials like OnlyFans etc., the lion's share of those side hustles rolls up to the label and the artist gets maybe 15% trickled back.

No, you would have to give to the Bayou Tradition collective

We cannot compete with Texas/Texas AM money. The good news is neither can some of the darlings of college football. Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan will be complaining loudly about it and I think some parameters will start to develop.

Whenever you see kids down to 2-3 schools and they announce their commitment, they are going to the highest bid.

Colin Simmons from Duncanville, TX, was between UT, LSU, and Miami.

Two of those schools are destination cities, one being close to home for him. The outlier was LSU.

He would have never considered LSU unless they really made an impression on him and he wanted to be here.

If UT is going to pay him hundreds of thousands more than LSU was offering, of course he’s going to stay close to home and collect the paycheck.

Just a matter of time before full blown SMU slush fund is tried again, but more legal this time within the loopholes of unregulated NIL. If I had to guess, it would be the Longhorns or UGA that would be so brazen to pull it off and get away with it. UGA got a jump on the competition a few years before NIL was legal, they were getting 5-star recruits at the last second when said recruit didn't even have UGA on their official list.

They’ve been getting paid for decades, the only difference now is it’s legal.

Yeah Georgia went wild with it because they were desperate to win it all….and it worked. You are seeing Texas and A&M trying to push all in now

I think it’s likely LSU football as you know it is gone & not coming back. Best to come to grips with that as soon as possible.

This is a state that can’t afford its own roads. You throw capitalism in the mix & we’re at the bottom of the list in pretty much everything, in any context.

Still got good food & music & people :). LSU is done though.
