Really don’t understand the melt over a kid that was a long shot at best. He’s been considered an A&M lock for months.

’m sure the cavalry will be quick to remind everyone in this thread that this staffs recruiting so far isn’t a big deal and it will all be roses in the end with our slate of kids we’ll get after the big dogs take who they want. But it’s ok cause they are kids that don’t want money!!!

I'm sure all the damn naysayers just choose to ignore that with all that money can buy Aggies, have YET to make it to Atlanta. While poor lil ole LSU with it's 3 stars won the West in Kelly's very first year. At the end of the day, I don't give a damn how many 5 stars Aggie has. It's about RESULTS.

And when the day comes or IF the day comes when they find their way to Atlanta, then and ONLY then will I be concerned. Until then, they are just a pimple on LSU arse.

Great job naming 3 guys that weren’t there during this coaching staff’s tenure.

A+

No it’s money. They are simply outbidding us. Period

Kelly has to confront this or a catastrophe in recruiting will occur.

Today's melt isn't as much about losing Bussey as it is a culmination of losing Bussey, Blake Ivy, Weston Davis, Dominick McKinley, Gabe Reliford, Drelon Miller in head to head battles with A$M along with Colin Simmons to Texas. I get the frustration and some of it is warranted.

Weston Davis was money whipped and really the only loss to Aggy. He committed to them out of the blue. Simmons was money whipped to Texas. Simmons stung because it sounded like LSU made a strong arse offer and he was really tempted.

Bussey and Ivy were long considered heavy leans to A&M. Reliford was offered early by A&M and he jumped on it. We’re still trying to flip him - good chance of being successful. McKinley was always lukewarm at best to LSU. We have four WR’s already committed. Do we really need a 5th in Miller?

It’s a down year instate and it’s hard to pull high profile OOS kids.

Yea, that’s not entirely true. As of now, he’s not probable.

Just out of curiosity - how do you know? He’s been on campus multiple times. Has he come out and said thanks but no thanks??

He came to LSU twice and went right back to A&M. Also, negative recruiting in regards to our lack of a DL coach doesn’t help.

These highly ranked classes being bought west of Louisiana will eventually start to show over the years, unless NIL is regulated.

We make fun of A&M, but eventually their rosters will be Bama-ish strong and they will begin to dominate the west. It will happen, and even under Jimbo. Miles and Orgeron won with talent, Jimbo has done it before.

Same thing will happen at Texas, even under Sark.

Not trying be scared, just the reality of recruiting top talent over a period of time. It comes together when enough classes are bought.

Unless something is done, and LSU puts a dent in it, we will fall behind on the field.

Recruiting is zero fun to me anymore. I respect the loyalist who keep it going on this board. Mad respect

These kids family will always take the. Money. Most come from nothing and have no prospects for anything except their high school senior.

A&M has been crushing us on the recruiting trail

Yep. Ever since the last 2 years of Ed O. He started that trend.

But I’d still rather it be A&M than a team that could actually accomplish something with all those recruits. A&M could take current NFL players and would still go 9-3 at best

Recruiting is awful now. Nothing matters anymore except the money. No matter how much success your program has, no matter what kind of resources you put into it, no matter what kind of NFL exposure you’ve got. None of it matters. You could probably have your practice field be a BREC field and your locker room by a PODS unit and if you pay more than anyone else you’ll get the #1 class

Capitalism baby!!!! Love it!!!!

Nope. And you can’t come up with a rational reason why it shouldn’t be the way it is now except “my team isn’t as good because of it” (which is fricking irrelevant to what should or should not be allowed. Don’t like losing recruits? Spend more money. Don’t have the money? Tough shite, that’s capitalism.)

Lol. No

The issue with the Texas schools isn’t coaching. It’s their big name boosters who have overinflated egos that fancy themselves as football coaches (because they watched some games) and those boosters demand input on game days.

Exactly. It doesn’t take a genius to realize this isn’t about losing bussey. It’s overall frustration with the dog shite recruiting effort by this staff and them continually getting their arse kicked all over the trail.

Notre Dame fans warned us that Kelly would recruit “good, not great”. I’m a huge Kelly guy but his recruiting is extreme concerning. We need to hire an actual DLine coach that can do the

job.
