And can we all stop with the "Mother who adopted the FB players" card. Adopting a football player has NOTHING to do with disciplining (tough love) kids who screw up. Any parent with a brain knows that, whether a kid is adopted or not. So cut the crap soccer mom (tigerinexile)and let us critique stupid management decisions.

And yes- lets get a DC who will kick their asses off the field when they pull stunts like that. My problem IS with the coaches for not employing the saban-like tough love.

i say suspend them for the bowl game

...and if you made these bold disciplinary actions because of a pair of 15 yard penalties at critical points in a football game, you'd be:

Bereft of a team willing to take the field for you in the Bowl game.

it wasnt a simple 15 yard penalty- It cost us the game!!! It was unecessary and stupid and thuglike...another area where we disagree i guess. Those kind of behaviors come from what is instilled into them by their coaches. Kicking a football half way into the stands= beyond stupid.
Why do you have such a tough time with the suggested consequences- lecturing them in public, sending a kid to the lockeroom to think about the mistake and what it cost the team, suspending him from practice, even sitting out a game...whats the real problem?

I bet you wish we had RP back. After all, it was just a few fights and missing some classes, and a few attempts at a casino---mitigating circumstances?

bullshite. Tremaine's was in a worse situation, but at least he was provoked. Alem's was just butt-fricking retarded. They're both arse-clowns, though. I'd sit them both. We need to get some of the guys who are gonna have to play next year some reps.

Got your jockeys [or briefs, as the case may be] in a wad. You ignorance knows no bounds, dimwit, one of my adopted children IS a football player. Do you have to buy stupid to be this ignorant, or does it just come naturally?

For mercy's sake, flyweight, don't whine so, it's unbecoming, virtually speaking.

Furthermore, I don't have to stop with a damn thing, Mr. Presumptuous, so long as I don't violate TD's posting guidelines. So man up, or whine on, the choice is yours.

The kind of "tough love" he showed the country on national TV when his senior QB picked up of those boneheaded, utterly dumb 15 yard penalties in a tight game against LSU?

Which "saban-like tough love" was, of course, to do absolutely nothing except to send Mr. JPW back on the field to finish the game.

Shoe on the other foot doesn't wear so well, does it? I really am just about to

you can not completely blame johnson's penalty, but I'd say a large % of the blame rests on his complete stupidity.
i agree with out his stupid arse we win this game. it was a 2 yard run that we stopped and going to be 4th and very long. what does he do? gets a personal foul and gives them a first down.

if you change that we in the game. his arse has been a complete waste.

I gave alem points for being the only dl who consistently came to play all season

tremaine has sucked all year and then pulled that shite.

I wouldn't object to both being sat down

It was a stupid, boneheaded reaction and as I noted before, I wish the hell he had not done it.

That said, come here, dipshiite, I wanna poke you in the eye and if you react or respond in any way beyond calmly returning to a neutral corner (or your huddle, as the case may be), it's gonna cost you next month's paycheck ... and all your co-workers (or employees, as the case may be) paychecks, too.

TJ has not done much his whole career.

he should not play the bowl. alem was really dumb as well but at least he has played well all year.

i think we can all agree that not all 15 yd personal foul penalties are created equal.

there's absolutely critical penalties that we all see turn a game -- the roughing the QB penalties against UK and 'Bama in 2007 and Johnson's penalty Friday.

Your first paragraph makes no sense- please go back and re-read it...I'm sure you'll agree. But I do understand how in the middle of all your "pent up" anger and name-calling, how good grammar and spelling might get missed---oh yeah--i forgot mitigating circumstances!!! Right

And- btw- No "other shoe" being worn on this foot mrs Exile...Saban openly berates his players when they screw up. And i assure you, TJ and RA would have been in the locker room in a heartbeat under his leadership.

Now focus (I know thats hard for you) on the issue- try at least- of what you would have done differently. (you say "leave it to the coach"...what specifically would you do?)Answer that please...
Otherwise go away and come back when you stop PMS-ing!!!

that's the point. johnson lost his cool and didn't understand the ramifications of his actions. it was all about reacting without thinking. i know it's hard not to react to a personal attack, but you've got to keep your head.

we're not talking about me sitting at my desk and some random dude walks into my office and pokes me in the eye. we're talking about a situation where you've got to KNOW someone is going to try and provoke you, and the consequences if you're caught responding are dire for your entire team.

it's a case study in the lack of self control the team has shown all year. granted there's some mitigating circumstances here, but you've got to rise above that.

Sometimes it just happens in a boneheaded, thoughtless moment, even at the Pro level where they get paid a helluva lot of $$$ and it's a business.

In these two cases, especially after Johnson was deliberately poked in the eye, it cost LSU big time. As much as we all groaned when those penalties occurred, today no one is more aware of the consequences of those two actions than those two young men, especially Johnson.

These are 18-22 year old young men. 18-22 year olds make dumb, spur of the moment decisions, they sometimes react to circumstances in the moment. These are the times painful lessons are learned.

Of course no one ripping these two young men for boneheaded, stupidity ever did a single thing in their teens and early twenties that carried consequences for others, as well as themselves.

It's one thing to be mega-disappointed at how LSU's regular season went and especially how it ended Friday, but it's another to make presumptions about how CLM and his staff handle disciplining players when we're not on the team, at practice or in the locker room. There is information we just aren't privy to and things are not always what they seem on the sideline.
