But until your love fest with Miles is brought under control, it will be too damaging to my health.
A point I need to reach back and clarify. He wasn't my choice for HC - with a very few notable exceptions, I very much prefer hardazz defensively minded HC's in the SEC. It's painful to watch a D that can't consistently stop offenses, drives me even nuttier than I already am. ;-) You know the feeling on 3rd down, especially after this season, the hoping against hope the D will get a stop THIS time ... only to watch a team pick up a first on 3rd and looong.
But CLM is LSU's HC now and I hope he makes good decisions and gets everything back to hard-nose LSU D and SEC competitiveness in 2009 ... cause if he fails, he takes LSU FB with him for a indeterminable period of time. That, I don't want to see happen.

Hitting the nail on the head right there!

Agree its the scheme mostly
but its also the discipline imposed by the words and actions of the coaches
both problems get solved with a change in DC
If Miles is too spineless to make that happen- then send him packing too

I hope so, big time. Plus, a single, hard-nosed Defensive Coordinator gives his players and position coaches a single figurehead they can rally around on D. It gives the D an identity, something sorely lacking this year - how can a D have an identity when all they have to look to is a gaggle of position coaches? There has to be a single guy in charge to whom all defensive players and position coaches are accountable

If you watched the Ala-Auburn game you saw Saban go ape on a player who made a mistake. At the time Ala. was leading by 21 points. What does Les do to Alem and Johnson, puts his arm around them pats them on the butt and peacefully tells them not to screw up again. Just difference in coaching styles.

REALLY?? Alem has played well all year. He made one mistake.....that didn't cost the game. Neither did Johnson's PF.
I disagree completely. Tremaines thug stunt would of put ARK like 4th and 19 and make them punt in the end zone. However, I think Raheims is wat killed us the most. There was no reason to kick the f****** football...That put them past the 50 yard line or close to that area I believe. Was it just me...or did I not see Les not do a damn thing (on camera) to Raheim?

Miles chewed Johnson out

yes agree- hopefully all that confusion will go away. They all look clueless with their hands pointing at each other, waving, setting up----hell they NEVER look ready for a single play

Tigerbait has a different definition of "chewed out"
Miles in his own words said quote "I told him come on man- you just cant do that" AND when TJ told him it was his eyes that got poked, he patted him on the but. I guarantee you, Saban would have made the humiliation a little more explicit.
Its just a difference in philosophy. I'd prefer the latter.
Sending him to the locker room would have made a bigger impact!

They would be running the stadium steps until their balls were hanging out of their mouthes.

Wow a new WINNER. For the most utterly stupid thing ever posted on this board.

Yup thats what i expected. Didn't cost us the game??? AK less 3 points = LSU Win. Its simple math
at the half, we were up 30-14...we didn't score one point in the second half.....
You really cannot do simple math, can you, stupid.

I'm getting a mental picture of Muschamp running out to the hashmarks after UT gave up a meaningless score in trash time. He grabbed one of the UT players by the facemask and chewed his a$$ all the way from the hashmark to the bench.
This is what was lacking at UT before they hired Muschamp and its one of the things that is lacking at LSU now. That - and an understanding of basic defensive concepts.

You think they don't know they screwed up or something?
Yeah, they made boneheaded mistakes. Guess what: so did a LOT of other players this year. Meanwhile, they were fired up about that game, and while they did go too far, I certainly wouldn't send the message that getting fired up for a game is bad.
I'd grill 'em in the film room, going over the tape where the penalties occurred...then shortly afterward show the highlights of their fiery play leading to huge plays for the LSU defense, applaud the intensity, and remind 'em not to take it too far.
They're not idiots. They're well aware they shouldn't have committed the penalties. You have to do SOMETHING, but at the same time, you can't be too harsh when they're showing the kind of intensity they were.

Do this math:
Colt David 40 yard field goal attempt NO GOOD.

Did anyone actually look at what happened to TJ?
The Ark player(right in front of the Ref I might add) was being drove into the ground after the whistle. Yes, it was dumb to retaliate. But,the ref screwed the pooch on that one. It should have been offsetting at worst.
One of a few homecooked calls if you ask me.
No clue what Alem was thinking.

I realize these are two very good players. Rahim had a questionable penalty, but Tremaine Johnson's penalty was one of the dumbest moves I have ever seen. He did cost us the game!

So your in the heat of battle and someone is gouging your eyes out and driving you in the turf right in front of the ref and your not supposed to do anything.
The ref should have flagged the hog player, but of course didn't.
We can all wish that he would've the restraint not to retaliate, but the ref should have prevented that from being necessary.
Alem's penalty was the really stupid one.

Ok, that Son of a Great Mother would not see the playing field again for me. Sorry I was not politically correct enough for you
