It’s comical to me that people (and there are a lot out there - mostly parents) have zero idea just how good college golfers are. There’s a reason her daughter ain’t getting noticed. And it’s not because she isn’t playing in the big events. It’s because she probably is not good enough.

There was a college girl last week shoot a 60 in a collegiate event at 6800 yards.

It's comical to me that people (and there's at least one out there) have zero knowledge of smaller schools having woman's golf teams that offer scholarships to players that just aren't that great.

He said they are in SE Arkansas. My nephew got a football scholarship to Arkansas St. so I figured I'd look up their woman's golf team. A 10 second google search gets me to their woman's Instagram page where I see the first tournament of the year, their team finished 5th overall. Pretty solid. For a 2 day tournament their lowest score was +8. Followed by +12, +13, +18, +18, and +20.

I'm assuming they have even worse players that are on scholarship and I can imagine the 10 other teams that finished behind them also have some players that aren't setting the world on fire. A high school girl that can drop a 69 is good enough to get a scholarship, gtfo with that.

She's is probably not trying to get into Stanford. There are 100s of DIII schools if you can hit a golf ball you can get a scholarship.

In fact the national champions in Women's Division III 4 days tournament shot a collective +57 to win with the top player shooting a +11 over 4 days. The best player in the tournament shot a +5 and the worst shot a +59.

If a girl can shoot a 66 from 6000 yards. That’s really all I need to know. She’s good enough for women’s college golf at some level.

There have been articles written about how women’s golf scholarships go unused every year.
